Camp at Spencer Park

Here is my letter I wrote to one of the parent helpers on our Spencer Park camp. Part of my letter is my recount about my favourite highlight from camp, which for me was Adrenalin Forest. I hope you enjoy my writing.

Dear Warren,

Thank you for being a parent help at Spencer Beach Holiday Camp. It would not have been possible to do it without you. I hope you had as much fun as I did. It would be great if you could come again next year. It was also fantastic that you could took time off work to come on camp with us. The meals you made were 5 star. It was also great how you helped us with the scavenger hunt.

Here is a recount I wrote about my favourite moment from camp.

My favourite activity at Spencer Beach Holiday Park camp was Adrenalin Forest. Wow this is so big and look how high the thin wire is. As I got my harness I wondered how high the levels would be. I thought it would be a challenge because I had never done anything like this before. As I did the zipline practice I thought this was going to be epic.

The first challenging obstacle was the ziplines they were a bit hard to get on. Some were flat so for the last bit you had to move with your hands along the wire to the end. The best zip lines were the ones at the end of level 1 and 2. The second obstacle was the barrels that you had to go through. There were about 5 small barrels but the tricky bit was the gap between the barrels.

Another obstacle was the spider net where you had to swing using your legs and arms. You had to grab on and then climb off. It was quite important  because if you did not grab on you will go back and get stuck. After the spider net I did the thin wire where you had to go across the thin wire and it had two wires to hold on too.

I would be very happy to do Adrenalin Forest again. I think everybody should give it a go. If you are scared of heights then just do level 1 and 2 because they only go to 4 meters.

Warren, thank you again for being a parent helper on our camp. You were the best camp group leader. I hope sleeping in the t.v. corner won’t make you not came on camp again. I really appreciate you coming on camp and I think you should come again next year because you were great. My favourite activity was Adrenalin Forest, what was your favourite activity that we did on camp?

Yours sincerely,
James

Spencer Park Camp

Between the 9th and 11th of May Room 18 and 20's Year 5 students went to Spencer Beach Holiday Park with Mr Hawes and Mrs Dent.  We did lots of activities including save the sand dunes, forest survivor, initiative games, a scavenger hunt, orienteering and Adrenalin Forest, which was my favourite.  The day after Room 18 and 20 got back from camp we wrote this poem about our favourite activity.  Mine was Adrenalin Forest I hope you enjoy it.

I heard
The zip lines with excited people on.

I heard
Jonty sing "I have my clippers clip clip I have my pulley pull pull".

I saw
Wire all above my head with lots of different challenges on it.

I felt
The cold wind on my face.

I felt
Like I was going to have the best day of my life.

I wondered
How high it would be.

I wondered
If I will be able to do level 2.
