Percentage/Fraction Maths

This week for home learning we had a math problem to solve.

Room 19 raised money for charity. 25% of the class wanted the money to go to child cancer research. 55% wanted it to go to the SPCA and the rest wanted it to go to other charities.

What percentage wanted it to go to other charities?
What fraction wanted it to go to the SPCA? 
What fraction wanted it to go to other charities?

55 + 25 = 80
20% = other charities
20 x 5 =100
⅕ = other charities


25%=SPCA
55 ➗ 5 = 11
100 ➗ 5 = 20
11/20 = SPCA
